This 2-hour workshop demonstrates the purpose, operation, and use of the lensometer, the theory of neutralization, reading prismatic effect, compound prisms, bifocal adds and veritical imbalance.   Hands-on experience will be gained through the use of equipment.  This workshop is GREAT practice for the Georgia State Board Practical Exam.

This interactive 4-hour workshop demonstrates the various illuminations and how they should be used.  The attendee will be enlightened to the fundamentals and use of the keratometer for contact lens pre-fit evaluation as well as its importance in follow-up care, and the instrument’s original application as a corneal lensmeter.  The relationship of corneal curvature to refractive error will be addressed, leaving the student with a knowledge of corneal and refractive astigmatism as it pertains to contact lens design. Advances in corneal measurement and analysis through the use of a video corneal topography will be discussed.  Finally, verification of contact lenses will be covered using a number of verification procedures.
